NASCAR Predictions: Cup Series Futures

NASCAR PREDICTIONS (#CupSeriesEdition): If we were giving out a NASCAR prediction today, we’d take Kyle Larson while the +275 odds remain. When he is on his game and driving steady at the wheel, he can’t be touched. Add that in with the fact he drives for Hendrick Motorsports, arguably the best team in all of NASCAR that has top-tier pit crews and engineers, and you’ve got a perennial powerhouse in the making.

NASCAR Predictions: Xfinity Series Futures

NASCAR PREDICTION: Picks for the Xfinity Series are really hard to make, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t lock in Justin Allgaier. His race-driving IQ is through the roof. Even when Allgaier doesn’t win the race, he seems to be in the top 10 more times than not. That means he gets a lot of driver points and keeps himself in the Xfinity Series Champion conversation throughout the year.

The pit crew of the #11 FedEx Toyota, driven by Denny Hamlin leaps into action during the NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN BET at Kansas Speedway on September 29, 2024 in Kansas City, Kansas.

2025 NASCAR Schedule: How it Works

If you’re not a NASCAR fanatic but are stumbling on this page by chance, here’s how the NASCAR calendar works:

Playoffs: Drivers accumulate points as the weeks , and the checkered flag gets waved. The more points they get, the higher up in the driver standings they get. Much like the regular seasons in hockey and football, the goal is to get enough points to make the playoffs.

Regular Season Winner: At the end of each regular season, a regular-season champion gets a trophy, a pat on the back, and a nice wad of cash. That said, this isn’t the actual prize, and it’s not what you’re betting on when you make your Cup Series Champion futures bet. That’s where the playoffs come into the equation.

Post-Season: Once the playoffs start, driver points are even more critical. NASCAR’s postseason runs in an elimination format, as four drivers get axed after each three-race round. The sole survivor takes home the Cup Series Championship.

How to Read NASCAR Odds

Let’s say you’re looking up “NASCAR odds this weekend.” You search it up on Google, find a sportsbook and boom, you’re seeing all these +s and -s. If you’re new to the game, it can be hella confusing. Add on the fact that you’ll have to spend an hour explaining to Grandpa why he can’t bet on Dale Earnhardt Sr. to win the Daytona 500, and you’ll quickly find out that you ain’t got no time for that.

To save the headache, we’re going to make things simple.

Most sportsbooks display NASCAR odds in the American odds form. -120 means you’d have to bet $120 to make $100 in profit. Contrarily, +120 means that if you bet $100, you’ll make $120 in profit.

Now, suppose your favourite sportsbook uses decimal odds or, God forbid, fractional prices. In that case, we encourage you to use our betting odds calculator to convert those to American odds (or the form of odds you best understand).

Types of NASCAR Bets

NASCAR betting online can be a very fruitful endeavour, especially if you’re willing to bet the board. To prepare you better for when the green flag waves, we’ll walk you through the various NASCAR bets.

Race Match-Up Moneyline

It’s your favourite road course race, Bowling at The Glen, and you have $100 in bonus bets you can’t wait to make. However, you don’t want to bet a driver to win the race outright. Instead, you want a 50/50 proposition. In that case, you’ll be inclined to bet a race match-up moneyline. Much like traditional moneyline bets, you’ll pick a driver to finish higher than the other.

For example, let’s say you like Ross Chastain to finish higher than Corey Lajoie (that’s almost a lock if there ever was one), and you put your money on Chastain. All he has to do is finish higher than Lajoie. If they both wreck at different points in the race, whoever is positioned higher wins (sportsbooks don’t void those bets).

Winning Manufacturer

There are three main manufacturers in NASCAR. Those manufacturers are Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota. When you make a winning manufacturer bet, you’re betting on the make of the winner’s car. For example, you bet on Chevrolet to be the winning manufacturer. Austin Dillon, who drives a Chevy car, wins the race. In that case, you win your bet. However, if Denny Hamlin, who drives a Toyota, wins the race, you lose your bet.

Driver Prop Bets

A typical driver prop would be betting what position the driver will finish. The bet can be expressed as an OVER or an UNDER. For example, the sportsbook are offering a driver prop on Kyle Laron. It might be worded as “Kyle Larson finishing position 3.5.” If you take the OVER, Larson would need to finish in fourth place or worse. If you take the UNDER, Larson would need to finish in third place or better.

Race Prop Bets

Race prop bets can be all sorts of things. You can bet on whether the number of the winning car will be even or odd. You can bet on how many cautions there’ll be. Believe it or not, you can bet on how many laps the winning driver will have led. The possibilities are endless, especially as some sportsbooks will offer special race props for the bigger dates on the calendar. Think the Daytona 500 or the Coca-Cola 500.

Best NASCAR Cup Series Drivers 2025

Joey Lugano was the last man standing in 2024. Hopeful to repeat his success from a season ago, the discourse around the sport has been dominated by Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, and Tyler Reddick. Week after week, these are the guys that take the most betting money, and here’s why:

Kyle Larson

Kyle Larson, driver of the #5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet, celebrates with the gladiator sword in victory lane after winning the NASCAR Cup Series Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 21, 2024 in Bristol, Tennessee.

In the case of Larson, he’s a good driver surrounded by a good team of guys at Hendrick Motorsports. Every week, he’s racing with a car built to compete with the best of them. The fact that Larson isn’t afraid of taking risks makes him all the more dangerous. That said, some of these situations he puts himself into aren’t for the weak stomached. Nevertheless, bettors jump to back him.

Christopher Bell

Christopher Bell, driver of the #20 Rheem Toyota, poses for photos after winning the pole award during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN BET at Kansas Speedway on September 28, 2024 in Kansas City, Kansas.

Read in Larry McReynolds’ voice.

Now, Christopher Bell is one of those guys who knows what he’s doing. Unlike Larson, he’s not going to push the boundaries of his car. Instead, he’s gonna take what his car is giving him and get the best of it, week in and week out. Joe Gibbs Racing is a team full of strategic thinkers who’ll prioritize driver points and play the long game over the course of the season. You best bet, though, when Bell is in a position to win a race, it’s all hands on deck. Bell is the textbook definition of reliability, which is why the bettors love him.

Denny Hamlin

Denny Hamlin, driver of the #11 Sport Clips Haircuts Toyota, waves to fans as he walks onstage during the NCS Driver Engagement on the Main Stage at the Chicago Street Course on July 06, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois.

We’re tempted to call Hamlin a has-been because he’s become the heel of the NASCAR Cup Series. Please don’t ask us why, but many racing fans seem to hate Denny’s guts. Yet, every race, Hamlin seems to be in the mix of things. As such, he gets a TON of respect from the bookmakers, and even the biggest of haters will drop some coin on Hamlin occasionally.

Tyler Reddick

Tyler Reddick, driver of the #45 Jordan Brand Toyota, waves to fans as he walks onstage during driver intros prior to the NASCAR Cup Series Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 08, 2024 in Hampton, Georgia.

If you’re looking for the sweetheart of NASCAR, Reddick fits the bill. If he’s expected to win a race, you best bet he’ll at least finish in the top five. “Ty Reddick” has a knack for sound driving and has done a good job of avoiding wrecks. More often than not, he’s going to give the bettors all he’s got. And that’s why Reddick is almost always one of the most heavily backed drivers.

All-Time NASCAR Cup Series Champions

In 70 years, NASCAR has featured countless races and hundreds of champions. But of all competitions, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) better known as the “Cup Series” is the most prestigious.

Missed, and still held in high esteem, late-great Dale Earnhardt, (pictured) was one of the most successful drivers in NASCAR history. The “Intimidator” piled up 76 Cup Series wins â€“ plus seven overall Championships during his career.

Final Thoughts on NASCAR Odds

NASCAR has really taken the phrase “rubbing is racin'” to heart. As such, each week contains tons of heart-stopping entertainment, especially in the closing laps. Unlike F1, big wrecks are common and often highly anticipated. And if you like your main course of racing to be served with a nice side dish of drama, the Cup Series has you covered.

Not to mention, one of our favourite bets, and most profitable ones, is the winning manufacturer. That’s why NASCAR will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Hopefully, this page has got you amped and ready for another season of racin’.
